Rodrigo was born in a Romani Caló community in Santiago, Chile during the regime of the dictator Augusto Pinochet. He brings an accomplished, award-winning background as a visual artist to the documentary focus of We Are Shouting. His video and photographic work evoke a feeling of momentary phenomena that plays in the zone between stillness and motion, the pictorial and cinematic. Rodrigo’s personal video work are brief descriptions of a moment or an action that addresses intrinsic behavior or beliefs. He presents narrative models that attempt to affect the viewer’s sense of reality, by exploiting the uncertainties of the representation, beauty and myth.
